Seven hospitals to pilot international healthcare in Beijing

Beijing has chosen seven hospitals as international healthcare pilot hospitals, making contributions to the construction of international exchange center, said Beijing Municipal Health Commission (BMHC) on April 28, 2019.

The seven hospitals are as follows: Peking Union Medical College Hospital, China-Japan Friendship Hospital, Beijing Friendship Hospital, Beijing Tiantan Hospital, Guang’anmen Hospital, Beijing United Family Hospital and Peking University International Hospital.

“Beijing has gathered a large number of high quality medical resources. In the future, these international healthcare pilot hospitals will explore ways to act on international convention,” said Lu Shan, an official from BMHC.

Meanwhile, Beijing will also advance the internationalization of health insurance’s payment.

“As for international healthcare pilot hospitals, Beijing aims at not only providing service to patients, but also improving the medical institutions’ operation and management. In the future, it will consider bringing in foreign advanced medical management team to make the hospitals’management system, personnel compensation as well as operation and management system more modern and more efficient,” said Lu.
