According to recent weather forecast, heating is expected to go off at 12 pm on March 15 in Beijing as scheduled this year.
It is required in Beijing that heating should be extended if the weather meets the condition that the average daily temperature is lower than 5 °C for five consecutive days or there is a strong cold front or rainy weather within five days from March 15, the fixed date for stopping heating.
This year, the average temperature from March 16 to 20 was forecast to be 8 °C to 9 °C in plain regions in Beijing, with the highest temperature to reach 15 °C to 19 °C.
Municipal and district-level heating supply departments were urged to ensure smooth security and service support work for stopping heating in the city. Citizens were suggested to pay attention to the recent large temperature difference between day and night and elders and children should keep warm to prevent illnesses after heating goes off.
