Chifeng-Kazuo section of Beijing-Chifeng high speed railway will be completed in 2019.
Upon its opening to traffic, the travel time between Beijing and Chifeng city, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, will be shortened to less than two hours.
Now, the roadbed construction of the passenger transport line between Chifeng and Kazuo Station of Beijing-Shenyang high speed railway has been finished and it will enter track laying stage.
It is learnt that the passenger transport line project need to lay tracks for 189 kilometers and the track laying work will be advanced toward Chifeng West Station in May 2019. By the end of 2019, the line will go on trial run.
In accord with the design, the travel time between Beijing and Chifeng will be 116.7 minutes, shortened by six hours compared with the original travel time.
At its early operating stage, totally 30 pairs of trains will depart from Chifeng West Station every day, among them 13 pairs heading to Beijing and nine ones for Shenyang, Liaoning province.
