Over 870 million people have visited the Olympic Forest Park in the past ten years, according to a commemoration of the tenth anniversary of the establishment of Beijing Olympic Forest Park.
“After ten years’ rapid development, Olympic Forest Park has become a well-known scenic spot and also a popular place for fitness lovers nationwide,” said Tian Juqing, head of the park’s operation company.
Compared with Olympic Park’s center area housing theBird’s Nest and Water Cube, the Olympic Forest Park has been a scenic area which was popular to “a small population”.
In 2008, Olympic Forest Park opened the south garden which could attract only around 100, 000 or 200,000 visitorsper year.
In 2009, Olympic Forest Park opened to the public officially with an annual visit volume of less than three million.
At that time, the central area’s visitors accounted for 80 or 90 percent of the whole Olympic Park’s volume.
With the vegetation’s increasing lush and people’s favor to the green ecology, the Olympic Forest Park has seen more visitors year by year.
It has welcomed over 10 million visitors in the recent five years, accounting for about one fourth or one third of the whole Olympic Park’s visitor volume.
Olympic Forest Park surpassed Fragrant Hill to become the most popular place for enjoying red leaves among Beijing’s 12 places in 2017.
