Beijing sent a delegation of 26 trade subgroups to attend the first China International Import Expo (CIIE) opening in Shanghai on November 5, 2018.
Currently, the trade subgroups have arrived in Shanghai, and work is orderly in progress in terms of comprehensive coordination, on-site activities, publicity reports, transaction statistics, logistics services and security guarantee.
According to the schedule, a promotion activity will be held on the theme of “Beijing’s openning-up, unlimited business opportunities – sharing Beijing’s high-end development market opportunities” on the morning of November 6.
During the activity, Beijing’s policy on opening-up, development of trade in services, development of high-grade, precision and advanced industries and financial innovation will be introduced; distinctive procurement projects like the ones concerning the 2022 Winter Olympics and Beijing Daxing International Airport will be released; a total of 11 contracts will be signed such as the ones between JD.com and Dell and between Xinfadi and Thai-Chinese SME Commercial Association.
On the afternoon of November 6, the Chaoyang District trade subgroup will hold an activity on the theme of “Optimizing business environment, strengthening economic and trade cooperation and sharing achievements of opening-up”. About 100 people from Beijing Municipal Commerce Commission, Chaoyang District’s departments and key enterprises will participate in the activity and three project contracts will be signed.
Meanwhile, the medical device and medical supplies trade subgroup will organize medical and health institutions and pharmaceutical companies to sign contracts with key exhibitors such as Philips, GE and Siemens.
During the expo, Beijing trade subgroups will actively organize buyers to participate in various activities like policy interpretation conferences, new product release meetings, trade talks, industry matchmaking meetings, procurement demand conferences and signing ceremonies to effectively seize opportunities to boost Beijing’s high-quality economy development.
