National square dance performances exhibited in Beijing

The three-day exhibition of national square dance performances closed at Olympic Stadium of Beijing University of Technology in Beijing on October 31, 2018.

The exhibition was attended by more than 1,900 dancers of 36 outstanding square dance teams selected by provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities in the country.

Two square dance teams from Beijing participated in the exhibition. A team from Yanqing district gave a performance titled “Meeting in 2022”, showing their yearning for 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics and confidence to be a host in 2022.

As a nationwide culture and sports event, the national square dance performance exhibition had been successively held at counties, cities and provinces across the country since the launch in June, 2018, aiming to create a good atmosphere for celebrating the 40th anniversary of reform and opening up and demonstrate people’s sense of gain and happiness in the new era.

As of the end of October, a total of 6,225 exhibition activities had been held across the country, with the participation of 64,564 teams of 2.09 million people, attracting more than 42.06 million people to watch.
