Beijing Bureau of China Railway sent totally 12.35 million passengers with over one million passengers daily of ten days in a row around the National Day holiday. Among them, 6.23 million passengers took the high-speed railway trains or D-series high-speed trains, accounting for 50.5 percent of the total passenger volume.
The number of passenger trips reached its peak on October 1, with 1.46 million railway passenger trips registered, rising 6.3 percent, which makes not only a new record peak in the same period historically, but also the latest highest record on a single day of Beijing Bureau.
Beijing’s three stations dispatched altogether 5.17 million passengers during the holiday, with Beijing Railway Station, Beijing West Railway Station and Beijing South Railway Station sending 1.38 million passengers, 2.02 million passengers and 1.77 million passengers respectively.
According to statistics of railway department, the medium-and long-distance high speed railway trains continued to be extremely popular and the high speed railway became the public’s first choice of travel.
Among the 4.03 million passengers of medium-and long-distance travels dispatched by Beijing Bureau, 57.5 percent of them about 2.31 million passengers chose the high-speed railway trains or D-series high-speed trains.
The tour in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region was very popular as its abundant tourism resources are connected by railway network of Beijing Bureau.
Some 36 pairs of trains were added to reach various scenic areas in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei province.
