Less garbage collected at Tian’anmen area of Beijing during National Day holiday

This year, during the National Day from October 1 to 7, a total of 47.2 tons of garbage was collected at the Tian’anmen area in Beijing, a decrease of 0.7 ton year on year, showing a declining trend compared with the same period of 2016 and 2017.

The Tian’anmen environmental service center of Beijing Huanwei Group undertakes the tasks of cleaning, collecting and transporting garbage, shoveling snow and ice, and offering environmental sanitation services for major events at the 284,900-square-meter Tian’anmen area.

In order to ensure a clean and tidy environment at the Tian’anmen area, Beijing Huanwei Group has dispatched 444 sanitation vehicles and 4,711 workers during the National Day holiday this year.

A total of 32 temporary toilets with 537 toilet cubicles were set up at the Tian’anmen area to effectively meet the needs of tourists, and 140 inspectors were appointed to effectively ensure a clean and tidy environment at the area.

During the seven-day golden week, Beijing Huanwei Group has dispatched 2,464 vehicles and 2,855 workers to collect and transport 107 tons of garbage and conduct 72 self-inspections.
