The hangar of China Eastern Airlines Base in Beijing Daxing International Airport got its roof officially on the morning of September 29, 2018, which means all of the supporting hangars projects of the new airport have completed structural constructions, a further step towards the target of navigation in 2019.
The hangarconsisting of a maintenance hall and a four-storey-building attached, will set up two places of wide-body aircraft or three places of narrow-body aircraft, can accommodate at most two Boeing 747 aircrafts or three Boeing 777 aircrafts at the same time and meet the flexible parking of various models with different repair and maintenance needs.
After the capping, the construction team will accelerate the follow-up work and make sure the hangar’s capping and enclosure at the end of 2018 and the airport’s fully completion before June 30, 2019.
It is learnt that after the operation of Beijing Daxing International Airport, China Eastern Airlines will deploy 150 to 200 large wide and narrow aircrafts, open air routes connecting Americas, Europe, Australia, Southeast Asia and Hong Kong-Macao-Taiwan.
It will take nearly 40 percent of the new airport’s aviation passenger business volume and construct an airline network covering home and abroad.
