Seven of China’s Top Ten Internet enterprises are Beijing’s Zhongguancun enterprises, according to the “2018 China’s Top 100 Internet Enterprises List” jointly released by Internet Society of China and Information Center of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently.
The Top Ten enterprises are Alibaba Group, Tencent, Baidu, JD.com, Netease, Sina, Sohu, Meituandianping, 360 and Xiaomi Group. Among them, Baidu, JD.com, Sina, Sohu, Meituandianping, 360 and Xiaomi Group are Zhongguancun enterprises.
The total Internet business revenue of the Top 100 Internet enterprises posted 1.72 trillion yuan(252 billion U.S. dollars) in 2017, increasing by 50.6 percent year-on-year and further promoting its contribution to economic growth.
The Top 100 Internet enterprises have a common denominator that they all give priority to research and development, and make breakthrough in core technology.
As a result of their continuous investment, these enterprises have achieved abundant fruits in new technologies, including artificial intelligence, big data and blockchain.
Among these enterprises, nearly 60 enterprises apply the technology of big data, 44 engage on artificial intelligence, 51 for cloud computing and 11 for blockchain technology.
They have over 22,000 patents and some of their technologies have become the first-order players in the international market.
These enterprises have been actively expanding the overseas market and stepped up globalization.
Totally 60 of the Top 100 enterprises involve overseas businesses and 55 enterprises are going public or listing, including 35 in domestic market and 20 in overseas markets.
They become more competitive in overseas markets and can provide high quality Internet service for more extensive users all over the world.
