Due to recent long-lasting high temperature, the maximum load of power grid reached 22.675 million kilowatts in Beijing as of 12:26 on July 31, a record high in history with a 0.6 percent growth rate from 22.54 million kilowatts, the maximum load in 2017. So far, the operation of Beijing grid has been kept smooth as a whole.
According to National Meteorological Center and Beijing Meteorological Observatory, this summer Beijing has seen a slightly higher average temperature and more high temperature days than before.
Beijing is estimated to have the maximum load of power grid reach 26 million kilowatts, an increase of 15.35 percent year on year, if the hot and humid weather lingers in the city for more than one week.
It is learned that State Grid Beijing Electric Power Company has deployed more than 5,000 staff members in 326 emergency repairing teams, 465 repairing vehicles, 40 power generating vehicles and 249 generators so as to provide emergency power supply during sudden power outages.
Mobile emergency backup power supply will be guaranteed in key areas in the city, by equipping mobile smart substations in the sub-center and new airport and large-capacity power generating vehicles at major transportation hubs.
