Twelve cooperative agreements were signed between Chinese and African media and a joint statement on further deepening exchanges and cooperation between Chinese and African media was declared during the Fourth Forum on China-Africa Media Cooperation in Beijing on June 26, 2018.

More than 400 government officials and media organization representatives from China and Africa countries attended the forum and they discussed on topics like “China-Africa media policy” and “China-Africa media digitalization and content development”.

It is learned that Beijing has been vigorously supporting African countries in strengthening the construction of radio and television infrastructure and it has built satellite television facilities in 10,112 villages in Africa.

Moreover, it has consecutively held four festivals to broadcast Beijing’s best movies and television dramas in Africa. Each festival, as many as 17 movies and 400 episodes of television dramas were selected to be broadcasted in seven languages in African countries.

Coordinating with the 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation to be held in Beijing in September, the Fourth Forum on China-Africa Media Cooperation aims to help further expand the exchanges and cooperation in media between China and African countries.
