Yuanmingyuan ruins to open for free on June 9

This year, the theme of China’s Cultural and Natural Heritage Day, which falls on June 9, is “Cultural Transmission and Inheritance”, according to State Administration of Cultural Heritage.

For the Day, a series of celebrating activities will be held at No.1 Spot(outside of the Peking Man Cave) of Zhoukoudian Site, like the release of results of preservation of cultural relics via scientific and technological method.

Besides, Yuanmingyuan ruins, the Museum of the War of Chinese People’s Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the Museum of Chinese Garden and Landscape Architecture, the Memorial Hall of “the Great Strike on February 7, 1923” at Changxindian Town, Yuan Chonghuan's Grave & Shrine and others will all open to public for free on June 9.

In addition, Beijing’s Temple of Heaven Park will hold exhibitions, at which residents can get a ticket for a visit by ID card on the site.
