Do you know “the train to spring” in Beijing? Yes, the train of Beijing Suburban Railway Line 2 runs through a flower field near Juyongguan Pass not far from the Juyongguan Section of the Great Wall.
Each and every of its photo goes viral online. Offline, the Juyongguan Village also becomes a hot place for amateur photographers and visitors.
With the splendid view catching people’s attention, people rarely know it is the “flowers protectors” that guard the good view and keep visitors safe.
These “flowers protectors” are villagers of Juyongguan Village, Nankou Township, Changping district, staff of Beijing railway police and rail guard unit, and workers of the Beijing Ming Tombs forest farm.

Hou Jianzhong, a villager of Juyongguan Village, has been in charge of making registration for visitors and helping them deposit unsafe stuffs, like lighter since 2016.
Hou, together with other villagers, usually works at 6 am till 6 pm, from the middle of March to mid-to-late April. “Villagers are very busy in spring, however, the flower field is always been given the top priority, ” said Hou.

A total of nine cameras were mounted by Juyongguan Village before the blooming of flowers to take the 24-hour monitoring for the safety.
Cheng Chunhong and colleagues work day and night shifts to monitor potential safety hazard like whether visitor smokes on the mountain or climbs safety facilities. If there is safety risk, they will tell workers to stop visitors’ risk action so as to eliminate hazards.

“I am responsible for fire prevention work and ask visitors to stop smoking timely. I usually patrol around the mountain from 6:30 am to 5 pm every day,” said Xia Jianfeng, a worker of the forest farm. He does not know how many steps he walks in a day.
