Beijing will build three city forest parks in its core areas in 2018, one in Dongcheng district and the others in Xicheng district, reported Beijing Youth Daily on April 2, 2018.
The over 11,000 square meters’ Xinzhong Street City Forest Park located at the northwest side of the Workers’ Stadium is one of the three. It started construction on March 16 and is to be completed by the end of September, 2018.
The Changlefang City Forest Park is another one of three parks. The first phase at Honglian South Road in Xicheng district will open to the public on July 1, 2018, with a total area of 10,000 square meters.
The second phase of the park that is at the third zone of Maliandao Honglian is to be finished by the end of this year.
A “water splashing zone for children ” and a “pets zone” will be built in Changlefang City Forest Park based on needs of neighboring residents, according to Gao Junhong, head of Xicheng Division of Beijing Gardening and Greening Bureau.
Gao said, another Tongleyuan City Forest Park is at Shoupakou area, it is set to start construction in the second half of 2018. Once completed, it will amount 10,000 square meters.
