There is a folk custom in China that people get a haircut on the second day of the second lunar month.

On March 18, the second day of the second lunar month in 2018, a team composed of 12 volunteers from barbershops and social organizations of Anzhen Subdistrict of Chaoyang District of Beijing came to give elders and residents a free haircut at the square of Anzhenxili Community.

Bao Cuijun, an 88-year-old resident of Anzhenxili Community, said, “I feel so thankful to our community. I am getting too old to walk freely and it is difficult for me to go outside. The volunteers are so considerate that they give me a haircut at home.”

“The small thing of offering voluntary haircut services is really a move to meet the demand of residents, especially those elders. The activities aim to motivate social entities to serve masses with precise services,” introduced by Liu Yi, Party secretary of Anzhenxi Community.
