The Spring Festival landscape decoration work is expected to be completed on February 10 and all colorful lights will be turned on at night from February 10 in Chaoyang District of Beijing, according to the district’s urban management committee on February 8, 2018.
“We will create a happy and auspicious Spring Festival atmosphere and build beautiful and brilliant urban landscapes by the use of national flags, flowers, lanterns, road flags, Chinese knots, iron decorations, bridge decorations, decorative landscape sculptures, light shows and nightscape lighting. The landscape decoration work is conducted on 202 roads in Chaoyang District, including 51 key streets and 151 branch roads surrounding residential areas and community roads,” an official from the committee said.
The official introduced that the landscape decoration design highlights both aesthetics and effectiveness, especially for the landscapes built in residential areas, so as to further beautify residents’ living and travel environment and make “admiring lanterns on the doorstep” a reality.
It is learned that this year during the Spring Festival holiday, Chaoyang District will also build four distinctive nightscape blocks of Dongdaqiao Road, Chaowai Avenue, Shenlu Street and Nanyingfang Hutong by hanging lights on trees, nightscape lighting or hanging lanterns to bring a more festive atmosphere to residents.
Currently, 90 percent of the landscape decoration work has been completed.
