The “Belt and Road” Museum will be built at Beijing Yanqi Lake Ecological Demonstration Zone, known as an international convention center in Beijing, Huairou authorities said on January 8, 2018.
This smart museum aims to fully recall the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation held at the Yanqi Lake International Convention Center by means of modern high technologies.
It is learned that the museum will be located at the north shore of Yanqi Lake, which has a beautiful environment and convenient transportation with a large parking lot. The total construction area is about 1,519 square meters. Currently, the project solicitation and design work is underway, and the museum is expected to be completed by the end of 2018 and put into trial operation in January, 2019.
In order to enrich exhibits at the museum, the “Belt and Road” item-collecting work has begun since the conclusion of the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in 2017. A total of 354 sets of more than 2,000 items in 89 categories like leaders’ national gifts, volunteer costumes and guest tables’ tableware, luncheon chairs and conference tables’ stationery have been collected as of the end of September, 2017.
With its “Belt and Road” item exhibitions, multi-media exhibitions and exchange and interaction activities, the “Belt and Road” Museum will play a role as a cultural window and platform together with the APEC exhibition center for Huairou District to build the capital into an international exchange center.
