Beijing’s first science experience hall for elders opened at the Luomajiayuan Community of Balizhuang Subdistrict in Chaoyang District on November 1, 2017.
Opening from Monday to Friday, the science experience hall welcomes elders to experience various science and technology equipment closely related to old people’s domestic life, participate in cultural and sports activities, attend experts’ lectures and receive health guidance from medical institutions.
The science experience hall highlights the integration of entertainment, knowledge, fun, science and technology and participation. In the electronic real experience interactive area, there are a variety of electronic interactive equipment like competitive bikes, rehabilitation exercise simulators and self-help health management interactive tables while in the exhibition area, there are charmingly naïve intelligent robots called “Xiaoben” and “Xiaoyou” who can answer all questions and a smart home, where elders’ dynamic information can be sent to their children in real time and elders can have some comprehensive physical tests about blood pressure and pulse.
In addition, a health elderly care service system is shown at the basement 1 of the hall. An elder wearing a smart watch can be monitored in real time, and if there are abnormal, staff members will contact the wearer and inform the doctors of community health service centers to rush to the site for rescue at once.
