The 113 “most beautiful villages in Beijing” have become a hot spot of leisure to attract a large number of tourists during the National Day holiday.
Statistics show that the 113 villages, accounting for 2.88 percent of the total number of administrative villages in Beijing, have received 780,000 tourists, 15.6 percent of the total number of tourists in suburbs, generating 46.71 million yuan ($7.04 million) in tourism income, which accounts for 10.4 percent of the total suburban tourism income.
As for the choice of tourist sites, tourists prefer the villages with mountain and river landscapes or distinctive experience activities like Xiaobao Village in Tongzhou District. In the choice of accommodation places, tourists prefer the villages which are rich in tourism resources, combine leisure and fitness, and are suitable for two-day or three-day tours like Mutianyu Village in Huairou District. In terms of consumption intentions, tourists prefer the villages with better accommodations and distinctive country style meals and tourist attractions like Liugou Village in Yanqing District.
