Beijing has issued 2.465 million residence permits since the residence permit system was formally implemented on October 1, 2016.
The permit is valid for one year and it needs endorsement when it expires. Recently, Beijing public security departments issued three new policies to facilitate people to endorse the permit from September 1, 2017. First, people who have residence permits for more than 11 months and less than 13 months can apply for endorsements. Second, residence permit holders who don’t changing residences can endorse the permit at any police station. Third, endorsements can be applied on the official WeChat account of “Residence permit of Beijing” and EMS services will be provided as well.
Those residence permit holders who don’t change residences are required to register and login the official WeChat account of “Residence permit of Beijing”, apply for the endorsement and make an appointment for a time to collect the permit. Then EMS staff members will collect the permit and fees at the residence by appointment and they will send the endorsed permit back to the designated address.
As for those residence permit holders whose living addresses are changed, they should upload the photo of the proof materials of their present residence and fill in the residence’s information. Then EMS staff members will check and verify the information about the residence when they collect the permit and fees.
The process from collecting permits to sending back permits is expected to be completed within five days, and citizens are suggested to offer real and effective information when applying for endorsement of permits.
