At 9:00, ten “little salesmen” in uniform were prepared for their work at the Dongzhimen store of Beijing Daoxiangcun Foodstuff Co., Ltd. They had a clear division of work like attracting customers, receiving payments and giving change. Less than half an hour, they sold eight or nine pieces of mooncakes. “This activity is really good. It not only trains children, but also gives me an opportunity to do something for charity,” a customer surnamed Wang said.

The volunteer activity’s earnings will be collected by Beijing Daoxiangcun Foodstuff Co., Ltd. and donated for public welfare. The donation activity is expected to be held in September.

The activity aims to give children a better understanding of the knowledge about the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival and provide them with a trade experiencing and exchange platform.

“Before the start of the activity, we have given those “little salesmen” a simple training on the knowledge about the Mid-Autumn Festival and mooncakes and the characteristics of our mooncakes so that they can introduce and sell mooncakes better to customers,” a staff member who gave the training for the children said. “The training also includes teaching them polite languages and gestures. Those industry standards benefit their future life.”

It is learned that as a time-honored brand food enterprise in China, Beijing Daoxiangcun Foodstuff Co., Ltd. has actively took part in various public welfare undertakings like providing disaster relief, helping the poor and supporting the poverty stricken students. In the future, it will hold more charitable activities.
