A social work service station was opened at Hujiaying Village in Zhangshanying Township of Yanqing District in Beijing on August 10, 2017. The station is the first poverty-relief social work organization in Beijing aiming to help increase the incomes of low-income villagers.

Being one of the three major venues for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games, Zhangshanying Township of Yanqing District has many low-income villages like Hujiaying Village for some historical and practical reasons. The township’s Party committee has made great efforts to help those villages to fight against poverty through various channels. It coordinated with the Chaoyang District’s women and children charity association to found this social work service station at Hujiaying Village.

According to Hu Shunquan, Hujiaying Village’s secretary of the Party, after the establishment of the social work service station, they will take the advantages of social work in precisely helping poor villagers by inviting elites to discuss the village’s development, organizing party members’ voluntary activities, opening elderly-care stations, holding health consultation activities and establishing e-commerce platforms.
