With a history of more than 700 years, Fuchengmennei Street is one of the oldest streets in Beijing and it is also one of the most beautiful Beijing streets in Lao She’s works.

Recently, the street launched a renovation project and the project’s first phrase is scheduled to be completed in October this year and the second phase to renovate the section from Zhaodengyu Road to Xisi Street will start in 2018.

The project highlights constructing a 6.8-meter-wide leisure belt between the non-motor lane and pedestrian walkway, adding plum blossom elements into the landscapes on the street, and reducing the number of various poles and signs on the street from 183 to 55, of which 36 are integrated ones.

Now the Fuchengmennei Street renovation plan exhibition center has been officially opened at No. 161 on Fuchengmennei Street for soliciting public opinions and suggestions.
