The second State-owned enterprise open day activity was held at Chenghejing elderly care station of Donghuamen subdistrict in Dongcheng District of Beijing on June 10, 2017.
Zhang Jiaxin, founder of See Young which is a public welfare organization for helping elders, led volunteers to attend the activity. They visited State-owned enterprises’ achievements of constructing home-based elderly care services in communities, exchanged and interacted with elders and carried out the voluntary activity of helping elders by science and technology at the station.
Chenghejing elderly care station is a one-stop community elderly care service platform which provides communities and families with the services of day-time care, elderly nutrition meals, rehabilitation therapies and cultural entertainment. The station highlights an intelligent elderly meal machine, which adopts the intelligent food production technology and provides professional customized services for elders. Regular training courses on painting, calligraphy, chorus and Peking opera are also opened here for elders to learn and have fun.
On this day, the station and See Young signed a cooperation agreement to regularly carry out “science and technology helps elders” voluntary activities like teaching elders using WeChat, taking photos via digital camera, booking a hospital online and paying bills of water and electricity on mobile phones.
“Today I will teach you how to book a hospital online via WeChat on smart phones at home,” Zhang Jiaxin started to teach elders with careful guidance and great patience at the station.
The white-haired elders wearing reading glasses and taking notes were all absorbed in the lesson, showing great readiness to learn. “The lesson broadens my mind and it teaches me to enjoy the convenience of science and technology life. I will persist in attending such lessons,” an elder said happily.
