Slow traffic system to be improved around Tian’anmen

In 2017, in order to facilitate citizens’ green travel, the slow traffic system will be improved in the areas of Tian’anmen and Lama Temple in Dongcheng district of Beijing, according to district’s transport authorities.

A total of 33.7-km-long pavement and bike lanes in the areas of the Forbidden City, Tian’anmen, Qianmen, Nanluoguxiang and Lama Temple will be renovated and the work is mainly to clean up road-occupying facilities, broaden roads and clarify the roads exclusive for non-motor vehicles.

In addition, the parking condition in the Guijie area will also be improved by demolishing illegal buildings and renovating businesses’ facade.
