抑郁症:比你想象的更常见 Depression: more common than you thought

根据我国部分地区精神疾病流行病学调查结果估算:我国15岁以上人口中,各类精神疾病患者人数超过1亿人,其中1600万人是重性精神障碍患者,其余大多数是抑郁症、自闭症等精神障碍或心理行为障碍患者。

It is estimated that over 100 million people over 15 years old suffer various mental illnesses in China, according to epidemiological investigation of mental disorders carried out in some regions. Out of those people, 16 million are believed to be severely affected by their conditions, most of whom suffer from mental and psychological disorders like depression and autism.

每个人都会有情绪低落的时候,这种暂时的抑郁、烦闷不是病。抑郁持续并且无法自我调整,严重到影响工作、学习和家庭生活,在临床上就会确定为抑郁症。轻度的抑郁症可以通过自我转移注意力等调情志的方式,以及专业医生的疏导,得到治愈。中度以上的,就需要心理治疗加上药物治疗,来控制病情。

According to medical experts, everyone may be in a low mood and transitory gloom is not a disease. But the state of unrelieved gloom that seriously affects one’s work, study and life is diagnosed as depression. Minor depressive disorder can be cured by emotion regulation and attention diversion of oneself and counseling with medical professionals. But sufferers of moderate and serious depression should receive psychological therapy and medication to have their conditions brought under control.

重性精神类疾病患者比如精神分裂症患者的染色体基因片段存在缺陷、畸变、冲突。而相比之下,抑郁症等病症的生物遗传性病因是次要的,主因是应激性心理反应。比如长期被不良情绪侵袭,包括被坏人欺骗、被亲友误解、被同事冷落,一件件糟糕的小事情不断累积,就可能在遇到突发重大事件时,变成“压垮骆驼的最后一根稻草”,从难以自控的“情绪”演化为令人崩溃的、导致精神类疾病的诱因。

Serious mental disorders are mainly related with genetic causes. However, the main cause of depression is psychological stress-related disorder rather than hereditary disorder. For example, if one suffers from bad moods like being cheated by others, and misunderstood or neglected by family and friends for a long time. When an accident happens to him all of a sudden, it may turn into the last straw.

Tips on relieving depression

1. 往最坏处着想,向最好处努力。凡是想得开,努力就好。

Keep expectations low but try your best.

2. 不开心时,试着换位思考。都不容易,理解万岁。

Try to understand others when you are not happy.

3. 听听歌,跑跑步,学会转移注意力。

Try relaxing activities, like listening to music and jogging.

4. 每个人都有自己的光芒,你比自己想象的更强大。

Believe that you are stronger than you think you are.

5. 能力以外的事情,顺其自然,时间自有答案。

Let go of the things beyond your control.
