Coal industry museum opens

A black briquette is now able to embody tons of hardships in the Western Beijing’s Mentougou District as the first coal industry museum of Beijing opened to the public on November 25.

The Western Beijing Coal Industry Museum takes two years to come into being. Staff members of the museum went deep into old diggings, factories and household of retired miners, and collected objects of most representative as exhibits.

The museum consists of nine exhibiting themes, displaying the history, development and achievements of the coal industry in the western Beijing area.
